Best Bets of the Weekend for All Sports | March 16-17
NCAAW: NCAA Tournament South Carolina vs. The Field Best Bet
The Field (+115) at FanDuel
We are seeing women’s college basketball explode in popularity thanks to awesome rivalries and Iowa superstar Caitlin Clark, who is basically Steph Curry at this point.
The NCAA Women’s bracket is revealed later Sunday night (after the men) and has plenty of intrigued. This bet is the field (so any other team) winning the NCAA Women’s title other than South Carolina.
The Gamecocks are 103-3 in their last three years and enter the tournament as the easy No. 1 seed and 32-0. They are the deepest team in the nation. But. The field? South Carolina was supposed to be the team last year, but got upset by Iowa in the Final Four. It’s just not easy. Take the odds on the field over South Carolina.
Tennis: WTA Indian Wells Best Bet
Coco Gauff Winner (+220) at BetMGM
Last week, we focused on the ATP (men) event at Indian Wells and picked Carlos Alcaraz, now let’s talk about the women’s side. Gauff has not had an easy road in this tournament, winning a third-set tiebreaker in the first round just to advance. , but with each round her ball striking has improved.
Gauff has the pedigree, still feeling confident after her 2023 U.S. Open title and has won seven WTA events in her career. She just turned 20 on Wednesday and has career earnings over $13 million.
Gauff will have the backing of the big Indian Wells crowd against whoever she faces in Sunday’s final. That will help push her over the top.
Golf: The Players Championship 2024 Best Bet
Ludvig Aberg Top 20 (-165) at DraftKings
If you’re into Netflix’s Full Swing golf series, you will remember Aberg as the player who absolutely torched the US team in the 2023 Ryder Cup beatdown. He won the European Masters in 2023.
The Swede finished second in the rain-shortened AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am last month and this is just his first year on the PGA Tour full-time. He shot a first-round 67 at TPC Sawgrass on Thursday, putting himself in great position for a high finish.
I think this is one of those situations where the sportsbooks haven’t quite figured out how good Aberg is, so get some money down on him at these odds before they go down.
