It’s conference championship weekend in college football. All eyes are on Michigan Iowa and just how low will it go? Plus down in Atlanta, there’s another battle between SEC powers Georgian and Alabama. The Crimson Tide are 3-0 against the Bulldogs in SEC title games, but Georgia has won 29 straight overall. Plus your best pick on an NFC South clash.

CFB: Big 10 Championship – Michigan vs. Iowa Best Bet:
Under 35.5 (-110) at BetMGM
The Wolverines against the Under Wonders, the Iowa Hawkeyes, for the Big 10 title. You won’t find many people outside of Iowa who think the Hawkeyes have a shot at winning this game, but you will find an entire nation interested in the over/under figure.
Iowa is an amazing 2-10 over/under this year, with their last seven games going under. The Hawkeyes have a fantastic defense, horrific offense and weird vibes that just seem to prevent points from happening.
Michigan is clearly better, and coming off an emotional win over Ohio State. I think the Wolverines have a bit or a let-down early, but score a couple of second half touchdowns, but Iowa isn’t getting many points. Maybe a field goal. This looks like 21-3, or 17-7. Believe the Wonder, take the Under.
CFB: SEC Championship – Georgia vs. Alabama Best Bet:
Alabama +5.5 (-112) at DraftKings
People wrote Alabama off after they lost to Texas in Week 2 of the season, but we’ve reached December and here come the Tide again, back in the SEC title game for the 15th time.
Georgia has won the last two national titles, but is 0-3 all-time against the Tide in SEC title games. Yes, in Alabama, that matters. Georgia has run over everyone it has played this year just about. Tight end Brock Bowers is a beast and quarterback Carson Beck has improved all season.
But a chance to take Alabama and points in the SEC title game? I don’t see how you can pass that up. Alabama is coming off an unbelievable win over Auburn in the final seconds. The college football season has been rather stable. It would be chaos if Alabama wins this, because they would probably knock out one of the four CFP teams – Georgia is definitely in. Root for the chaos and take the points.
NFL: Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Best Bet:
Bucs -5.5 (-108) at FanDuel
Sometimes when an NFL team fires a coach mid-season, it sparks a brief surge – just look at the Raiders this season, but people could see that one coming. The Panthers fired Frank Reich this week after 11 games. This is an organization with poor leadership and that shows on the field.
The bad thing about the Panthers is top pick Bryce Young started slow and has seemingly only gotten worse, but look at the Panthers roster. They don’t have much offensive talent at all.
Tampa has lost six of its last seven, but in the terrible NFC South, the 4-7 Bucs still have a pulse. In fact, a win here and a win next week over the Falcons and they’re probably in first place. Tampa may not be good – although Rachaad White has had a nice season – but they’re still playing hard and have something to play for. That’s all they’ll need against the Panthers.
