Christmas is coming in the NBA, but the Pistons have nothing but L’s in their stocking. Detroit has lost 22 in a row and now takes on a Bucks team that will show no mercy. Plus, it’s always smart in sports betting to find a hot streak and stay on it, so we’re going to stay with a couple of overs, but you better move fast on this parlay.
NBA Picks & Parlay of the Weekend | December 16
Detroit Pistons at Milwaukee Bucks Best Bet
Bucks -17.5 (-110) at FanDuel
Detroit lost a franchise record 22nd straight game Friday night to the Sixers and now have to travel to face the surging Bucks, who had the night off after beating Indiana.
Even a good basketball team – which the Pistons are not – would struggle with this second part of a back-to-back.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is averaging 32 a night and there’s no one in the NBA who can stop him, and certainly not anyone on the Pistons. The 17.5 points is a lot, but I don’t expect a lot of effort from the Pistons, who have one more road game before coming home to play the Jazz. The NBA record for a losing streak is 28 games. I hate to say it Piston fans, but it’s very much in play.
Even a good Pistons team would have trouble with this one. Take the Bucks and the points.
Detroit Pistons at Milwaukee Bucks Best Bet
Over 240.5 (-110) at FanDuel
We’ve had some success riding the over in the NBA recently and I like pairing this up with our Bucks point spread pick.
Milwaukee is 16-8 over/under this season and the Pistons are 14-11, so there’s some good trends here. When these two teams met six weeks ago, Milwaukee won 120-118. Six of the last seven Bucks games have hit the over and their last two times out, the Bucks scored 140 and 133 points.
Detroit doesn’t defend very well, but this is the NBA, they do have some guys who can score. Two of their last three games have gone over.
The over is a good combo to add in especially if the Bucks blow out Detroit and take a big lead early, which is what will happen.
Indiana Pacers at Minnesota Timberwolves Best Bet
Over 245 (-110) at FanDuel
On Friday, we got in early on the Pacers over/under line at 258.5 (see, it pays to wake up early with Michigan sportsbooks) and got a win. The total eventually moved up to 261. Washington stunned the Pacers 137-123, so 260 was the total.
Yes, that’s close.
This total has already moved by a point as the money is coming in on the Pacers to go over again. Indiana is 18-5 over/under (depending on when you got it Friday).
Minnesota is back home after going 2-1 on road trip. They are 18-5, the best record in the Western Conference and led by Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns, each averaging over 20 points a game.
Indiana should be fired up after their loss to the Wizards (everyone in the NBA can win except for the Pistons) and the T-Wolves will happily run and gun.
Get in on the over before it climbs higher.
