NBA Picks and Parlay of the Weekend

Start off your Super Bowl weekend with our NBA Parlay for Saturday afternoon’s game between the Pistons and Clippers. LA has beaten Detroit nine straight times, but the Pistons are the team coming in on a win streak. Detroit was active at the trade deadline and it looks like they’re going to ride the young guns through the end of the season. The Clippers were thumped by the Pelicans on Wednesday, but are third in the Western Conference.

Detroit Pistons at LA Clippers Best Bet

Pistons +16 (-110) at FanDuel

Don’t look now, but the Pistons are on a win streak.

Detroit has won two straight after beating the Kings and Blazers on this West Coast trip, and are now just a game behind Washington for next-to-last in the Eastern Conference. Listen, throw out the 28-game losing streak and Detroit is 8-15, roughly .333 basketball. That’s sort of what we expected from this team this year.

The Pistons were extremely busy at the Trade Deadline, dealing away Alec Burks and Bogdan Bogdanovic and bringing in Quetin Grimes from the Knicks. We wondered what the Pistons would do at the deadline, basically, they said let’s go all in with the young guys.

The spread here is a whopper. The Pistons haven’t beaten the Clippers since 2019. It’s nine wins in a row for LA, but the margin of victory is only 8.3 points in those games. Note the 3:30 p.m. ET start.

The Pistons team we were waiting for is finally here.

They don’t have the horses to beat the Clippers, but they can hang.

Jalen Duren Points Total Best Bet

Over 15.5 points (-115) at FanDuel

Speaking of the young guys….Jalen Duren is still only 20-years old. The Pistons are waiting for one of their young draft picks to ‘make the leap’ as they say in the NBA and Duren may be the best candidate.

Duren is coming off maybe his best game as a pro, scoring 27 points and grabbing 21 rebounds in the win over Portland. If you’ve watched the Pistons this year, you can see it, he’s an athletic big man not afraid to go at the rim. He’s averaging 14.4 a game, but I love him to go over this total today, because remember the Pistons just traded away Bogie and Burks, they’ll need Duren to produce on offense.

Plus, today is the one-year anniversary of his best career game over the Spurs when he scored 30 points. The Clippers don’t have a fleet big man like Duren.

Take Duren to go over the total.

Paul George Made Threes Best Bet

Under 3.5 (-174) at FanDuel

The former Pacers star is in the last year of his deal with the Clippers, and even though there are whispers he may want out of LA, odds are he will resign. The Clippers are moving into a glorious new building next year and they want to be contenders.

PG-13 is coming off one of his worst games of the season, seven points against the Pelicans and 0-8 from deep.

In the Clippers pace-and-space offense, George is going to get open threes and take them. George is attempting just over eight 3s a game, 13 th in the NBA. He’s making 40.3 percent, which ranks in the top 50. But he hasn’t made more than three 3s since Jan. 16.

George is a great shooter and player, but the Clippers have other offensive weapons they can use.

Take George under the made threes.
