Play’n GO Launches Piggy Blitz Slot Exclusively on BetMGM Casino Michigan

December typically births Christmas slots, but it appears that Play’n GO and BetMGM are up to something else this festive season. The casino recently landed a deal with BetMGM Casino Michigan, making the online provider the sole host of the new Piggy Blitz slot game.

Announced in the week preceding the Christmas holiday, BetMGM has revealed that the game is available on their online casino app and website till January 18, 2024.

While BetMGM has had a relatively bad year by its standards, it still towers above all other operators in the state, thanks to its over 1,300 slots catalog.

Play’n GO originally released Piggy Blitz in September 2023, with the slot instantly becoming an option among players in Europe and Asia. However, the slot is now set to be available in two American states after the exclusive deal between BetMGM and Play’n GO. Despite having a license to offer its games in four US states, Play’n GO is content with limiting this game to its Michigan and New Jersey audience at BetMGM Casino.

“Piggy Blitz has proven extremely popular with players in our other jurisdictions, so we’re confident that we can replicate that success here in the U.S.,” Play’n Go Commercial Director for North America, Magnus Natt och Dag said in a press release.

“BetMGM’s players have made it abundantly clear that they enjoy our content, and Piggy Blitz is sure to replicate that success in 2024.”

The slot promises a maximum payout of 5,000x the base bet and comes in a six-reel, four-row grid. Players can land winning combinations across its 4,096 paylines, albeit with medium volatility. At BetMGM, the optimal RTP is 96.25% is available, further improving the excitement on offer. 

This release joins thousands of others currently included in the BetMGM Casino Michigan catalog. As of last count at the start of December, BetMGM had 1,360 slot games, the most of any operator in the Great Lakes State. This number also includes 173 games with progressive jackpots. DraftKings is a close second with 1,318 slots and 465 jackpot games.

Michigan casinos have also crossed 10,000 in cumulative available slot games and 1,311 jackpot titles. This is an increase of over 500 games from the same period in November.

Away from gaming library to revenue, BetMGM has had a rollercoaster of a year in 2023. Despite starting the year on a good note in January with four back-to-back monthly totals over $50 million, the casino almost ended second in the ranking of Michigan casinos. BetMGM generated a record-setting $56 million in March but would subsequently drop below as low as $44 million in August.

However, it appears BetMGM is not dipping; its competitors are simply gaining more advantage. For instance, the casino has generated $539.4 million in cumulative revenue year-to-date, compared to $534.7 million in the first 11 months of 2022. Hopefully, the casino can follow the industry pattern and shatter records in 2024.

In other related news, EveryMatrix will now offer its gaming content on BetRivers Casino Michigan platforms. This comes after Rush Street Interactive, the parent company of BetRivers, penned a deal with EveryMatrix to supply games to the casino through Armadillo Studios.

EveryMatrix has supplier licenses to operate in Michigan, New Jersey, Connecticut, West Virginia, and Ontario, with plans to expand into Pennsylvania. Some of the slots that will soon feature at BetRivers include Joker Classic, Armadillo Does Christmas, Fortune Dragon Queen Exotic Wilds and Armadillo Goes West. Several new titles are also expected in 2024, including Alice’s Mad Fortune, inspired by Lewis Carroll’s classic novel Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

BetRivers will also be looking to improve its lot in 2024 after hitting record revenues in December 2023. And with 1,288 games already in the operator’s catalog, bringing EveryMatrix on board may help increase this tally.
