1X2 Network’s choice of Michigan and BetRivers is strategic. The Great Lakes State has 15 licensed iGaming operators. These operators earned a combined revenue of $1.9 billion in 2023 alone.
In the first two months of 2024, Michigan secured its place as the second-largest online casino state in terms of revenue with $369.9 million. The state was surpassed only by New Jersey with $371.3 million revenue within the same period.
In addition, BetRivers has consistently maintained its place as the fourth-best online casino in Michigan. The online casino operator generated $12.1 million in February online revenue behind BetMGM ($50.3 million), FanDuel ($48.4 million) and DraftKings ($36.9 million).
Over the years, BetRivers has also built its reputation with its ever-expanding slots inventory. It remains to be seen how this new partnership will boost BetRivers ranking and income.
The attractiveness of the Michigan online casino market was confirmed by 1X2 Network CEO Kevin Reid in a statement:
“Our launch into Michigan with one of North America’s most respected and innovative online casino operators is a landmark occasion for all of us at 1X2 Network. RSI’s BetRivers platform places us in an excellent position to share our unique content with players in Michigan, which has seen overwhelming success within iGaming. The US is a major strategic market, and we are excited that RSI is our exclusive market entry partner for Michigan.”
It was previously reported that BetRivers’ parent company, Rush Street Interactive, is considering selling its online gambling operation. However, industry experts think BetRivers will continue operating in Michigan regardless.
